ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, PASSED IN
MILLEDGEVILLE, AT AN ANNUAL SESSION IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER, 1833.

Full Title: AN ACT to incorporate a volunteer company of Infantry,
at Clarkesville, known as the Habersham Mountaineers.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
State of Georgia in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted
by the authority of the same, That the company of infantry in
Clarkesville, Habersham county, commanded by Captain Benjamin F.
Patten, is, and are hereby incorporated under the title of the
Habersham Mountaineers, and that the members thereof are hereby
authorized and empowered to form such rules and regulations, and
pass such by-laws for their own government and regulations as they
may think proper; which by-laws and regulations, when formed and
passed, shall be binding on such company to all intents and
purposes: Provided, that such by-laws and regulations be not
repugnant to the laws of this State, or the United States.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted by the authority aforesaid, That a board
of the officers of said company, of three or more, two of which must
be commissioned officers, shall be competent to form a court of
inquiry, and try and fine defaulters for non-attendance, or other
defaults or misconduct, as members of said company, which court
shall be governed by the laws and rules regulating company courts of
inquiry in this state.
