We can help you! Limited research is available at $20 per surname search. This will not be an in-depth search but will be limited to materials available in our library. Your Queries (50 words or less) will be published  in our quarterly newsletter for $2 for nonmembers. Include your name, address and phone number on your request whether by mail or e-mail.

LIBRARY

In our research rooms at the library we have many state and county reference books and periodicals. We also have computers and a staff of volunteers that can help you access the many genealogical web sites which are at the heart of our family history searches.
 
Below is a brief outline of some of the books and periodicals that we have in our collections that could aid you.


Roy W. Swann Military History Room
In this room you will find a book on Colonial Soldiers, a book on Revolutionary Soldiers, books on Confederate Soldiers, DAR Magazines, UDC Magazines, books on Passenger Lists, a book on Irish Settlers, books on North Carolina Colonial Records, Virginia books, Alabama books, and many other reference books

William and Sara Smith Room
This room was furnished in memory of Frances Smith Belcher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smith. The walls of this room are decorated beautifully with Bing and Grondal plates, ”Gone With the Wind” plates, Norman Rockwell plates, Goebell Hummell plates, and hand painted porcelain by Sarah B. Smith. This room is a sitting area.

Vessie Thrasher Rainer Georgia Room
Georgia books, Georgia county books, Henry County Books, Georgia County History Book, State of Georgia Research books, Genealogy How To, Georgia Periodicals, and many more reference books are located in the Georgia Room.

Microfilm Room
Located in this room are family name files, microfilm of census records and Confederate pension files, miscellaneous microfiche files, and land lot maps

Periodical Room
Located in this room are quarterly genealogical society magazines from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Colorado, California, Indiana and many other states. Also, there is a computer to access genealogical web sites. PUBLIC COMPTER WITH WORLD WIDE ANCESTRY.COM

Long room upstairs
Periodicals such as Alabama Historical Quarterly, Central Georgia Genealogical Society Quarterly, Family Puzzler, Genealogical Helper Magazine, New England Historical and Genealogical Quarterly and many more magazines for genealogical research are in this room.
