• BROOKS, I am trying to find out where Jesse E. Brooks, his 1st. wife Martha, his 2nd. wife Mary (Eaves) are buried. They lived in Gordon Co. in the 1870 Census and cannot be found after that. Jesse E. Brooks born 1808 and died after 1870, Martha born 1808 and died after 1860. Mary (Eaves) Brooks married Jesse in Gordon Co.March 31, 1866, died ?. The children of Jesse and Martha stayed in Walker Co. The child of Jesse and Mary (Martha A. Brooks born 1867) I can not find after 1870. Can any one help with any information about the?

• I am looking for any information in relation to the surname Serritt. My gmother was Myra Lucrettia (SERRITT)Cook she married Joseph Fonzie COOK. They were both from the Fairmount area. Joe's father was Benjamin Franklin COOK and he married a HAYNES. There is also a line to the KLINES and the CALHOUNS of this area. Lucrettia married a COOK and her sister married the other brother. She also had two other sisters marry into the GREENE family. They also were two brothers. Her mother's maiden name was DUGGER. The spelling of SERRITT, KLINE, GREENE,HAYNES, and DUGGER have been changed through out the generations. I do have other names that may help in linking.

Family info says he and brothers Blueford and Lem MAULDIN, sons of a preacher, came to New York from England and settled in Sugar Valley, Gordon County, Georgia, date unk. Alvie married Jane HICE of Pickens County, Georgia. Their children were Frank, Jim, Thomas, Joe, Mary, Martha, and Betty. My g-grandfather Thomas Ervin MAULDIN b. 3 NOV 1855 in Summerville, GA. near Calhoun, GA. (Chattooga Co.?) and m. Malissa/Melissa? Ann GODDARD 5 JAN 1880 at Griffin, GA. Their children were Willie, Cora, Josie, Lula (my g-mother) and Pearl. Malissa/Melissa GODDARD's parents were Edwin E. GODDARD (dates unk.) and Harriet C. FULLER, I think b. 1837? in GA. • My name is Chad Holden, my grandfather was born in Gordon CO. His name was Charles W. Pope and he was the son of a Pope and A Brand. At the church in Sugar Valley there is a couple of markers, one we placed about ten years ago for my grandfather's uncle (I am unsure of the first name) the surname of Brand it is beside a marker that has a lamb on it. My grandfather said it was the grave of his little cousin who died shortly after birth. My query is in reference to the Pope and the Brand family who I believe has some history in your area. My grandfather passed away several years ago and so did much of our family's unrecorded history. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

• I'm attempting to contact the family of Charles L. MILLER and Bessie Druzilla MILLER (Different family). Charles was the son of William "Bill" and Margarette MILLER, and was born 8 feb., 1882, died 12 Oct, 1970 in Plainville. Bessie Druzilla MILLER was the daughter of William J. MILLER and Lena L. Hester. She was born 18 Jun., 1887, and died 29 Nov., 1965, also in Plainville. They were married on17 Jan., 1911, in Plainville, GA, and I know they had at least one child, Charlcie Grace MILLER, but there could have been more. A possible son my have been William Starr MILLER. Bessie's paternal grandfather was William F. "Bud" MILLER and Nancy J. Zuber. Also seeking information on the Bessie's brothers and sisters, which number twelve that lived and one that died young.
