She was born September 30, 1825 in Ga, and died April 15, 1915 in Calhoun, Gordon County, Ga.

Notes for JAMES A COLEY:   Was a Miller by trade. On Jan 21, 1891 he was appointed Tax receiver for Gordon, Co, Ga. Lived in a large white house on the side of the hill behind Hall's Hospital, Calhoun Ga.

Notes for MAURICE PIERCE PENDLEY:  Was a Share Crop Farmer all his life. Owned a large buckskin colored horse named Buck. Farmed most of his life in Gordon County Ga., in communities of Antioch, Dry Valley, and Bell Wood. When ask about his ancestors, he replied; "Don't know, I just came out of the mountains".

Notes for JAMES VERNON PENDLEY: Called Vernon, born in Gordon County in 1905, he owned and operated the Gulf Service Station, US Hwy 41, in south Calhoun Ga. This was a brick Service Station and was in the forks of the road between US 41 and the Peters Farm Rd. The building is no longer there. He and his wife Nellie also lived in an apartment in the back of the Station. Sometime around 1948-50 he built and lived in the rock house on the right as you go back Peters Farm Road about 1/4 mile. Before there was electricity to most of the rural area, he bought his parents a battery operated radio. He devisd a wind mill from an airplane propeller, with a pulley to an automotive generator, to charge the battery. Each week he would bring a fresh charged battery and switchwith the old one. When I was about 10 years old he gave me my first bicycle.

He married ADDIE PEARLYNE BROWN, daughter of LEWIS BROWN and JULIA GRAVITT. She was born February 06, 1909 in Gordon County, Calhoun Ga, and died February 15, 1936 in Gordon County, Calhoun Ga, buried Mt Pleasant Cemetary, Red Bud, name of Roe.

Notes for LEMMIE MYRON SR PENDLEY: Was the son of a Share Crop Farmer. At the time of his death by pneumonia, he was working night shift at the Cotton Mill in North Calhoun, Ga. He went by the name of "Myron" and his friends nicknamed him "Footsie", wore a size 17.

Notes for ADDIE PEARLYNE BROWN: Born in Gordon County, Feb 1909, she is buried in Mt Pleasant Cemetary, Red Bud, Gordon County, under the name of Roe. Before music was dubbed onto the film so that it is played along with the movie, story and scene, local talent would be employed by the theater to provide this music side effect. Addie Pearlyine, called "Peggy", for a while played the guitar at the Calhoun, Ga movie theater. She studied to be a private Nurse. While caring for a patient in Red Bud, with TB, she contacted the disease, which was terminal.

Notes for ANNIE LOU PENDLEY: Sept 1997, this lady is alive and active. Around 1936-37 they lived in north Calhoun Ga. Living in town they still wanted to plant and raise a garden. You have to picture this, Annie driving a T-Model Ford with a plow tied behind, with husband Lee doing the plowing. She still cuts her own lawn. She is the source of information for most of the Pendley, Robinson and Smith family tree.

Notes for WASHINGTON LEE ROBINSON: Although raised on a farm, he worked in a Cotton Mill in Calhoun and Dalton Ga all his life. He died of black lung disease from breathing the cotton dust all his life.

 WILLIAM "BILL" LAMAR5 PENDLEY (ETTA ESTELL4 SMITH, MARY JANE "MOLLY"3 COLEY, JAMES A2, WASHINGTON1) was born Abt. 1921, and died November 26, 1993. He married VIOLA COX HALL.

Notes for WILLIAM "BILL" LAMAR PENDLEY: Called "Bill", born in Gordon County in 1921. Was a vet of WW II, as a S/Sgt in the Army Air Corps. Was a mechanic on the A-6 airplane, Luke Air Field, Arizona. Said he never knew when his pilot would require him to fly with him, which was very motivational in keeping his plane in good shape. He later owned and operated the Gulf Service Station, located behind the old Train Depot, and in front of Beamer's Mule barn, Rome road, Calhoun, Ga. None of these buildings are there anymore. Played the fiddle, guitar, and Harmonica. He had a good singing voice. Died from a heart attack while at a local feed store.

MARY ADALINE PENDLEY (ETTA ESTELL4 SMITH, MARY JANE "MOLLY"3 COLEY, JAMES A2, WASHINGTON1) was born April 03, 1922, and died September 17, 1997 in Buried Fain Cem, Calhoun Ga. She married MARVIN HALES. He died Abt. 1994 in Buried Fain Cem, Calhoun Ga.

Notes for MARY ADALINE PENDLEY: Mary was born the daughter of a share cropper, in Gordon County Ga. Although no bodily children of her own, she was mother, teacher, and friend to her husbands children. She was loved and respected by all with whom she came in contact. She also acted as home secretary for her son-in-law who is a baptist minister. In later years she was very devoted to her church and in her religion.

Notes for MARVIN HALES: Was a very talented person. Although not well schooled, when he was interested in a something he would thoroughly research the subject, anything he could find, written instructions, libraries, etc., and hands on self-teaching. Was and excellent photographer and developer; When chenille bed spreads were in fashion he worked in Dalton, Ga., as a designer and lay-out specialist. He also was exceptionally gifted in designing and doing wood crafts.
