Mrs. Mary Dean Yarbrough

Mrs. Mary Dean Yarbrough, age 89, 12 Chateau Drive, Rome, passed away Wednesday evening in a local hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Yarbrough was born in Floyd County on Jan. 2, 1914, daughter of the late James Dean Jenkins and the late Sadie James Jenkins. A Licensed Practical Nurse, she retired from McCall Hospital here in Rome following over 22 years of employment. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Yarbrough was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, John C. Yarbrough in May 1970 and by five sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mary John Privett of Lindale, three sons, Jim Yarbrough of Rome, Tommy Yarbrough of Rome and Kenny Yarbrough of Rome, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the graveside in East View Cemetery. The Rev. Elgin Williams will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home today from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. At other hours, they may be contacted at each of their respective homes.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home today at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heyman Hopsice Care, P. O. Box 163, Rome, Ga. 30161-0163. Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
