Lester Wilson

Lester King Wilson, 67, 4 Delwood Drive, died Tuesday morning in a Rome hospital following an illness of several years.
He was born December 2, 1908 in Floyd County, son of the late William Henry and Beulah King Wilson. He had resided most of his life in Rome and Floyd County and was a member of Armuchee United Methodist Church.
Survivors include the widow, the former Minnie Irene Fountain, to whom he was married December 24, 1930; one daughter, Avanell Campbell, Armuchee, one brother, U. P. Wilson, Rockmart, two sisters, Mrs. Jewell Blaylock and Mrs. Charlcie Yarbrough, Rome, one grandchild and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel, with the Revs. J. Howard Holcombe, Clyde Wilson and Gerald Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in state in the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today. At other hours, they will be at the residence, 4 Delwood Drive.
Pallbearers will be Herbert and Herschel Bailey, Grady Boggs, Buck Ash, Albert Smith and Ralph Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Smith, Bill Evans, Guy Davis, Melvin Cagle, Seab Evans, Ed Dempsey, Walter and Charlie Selman, Jodie and Kelly Hawkins. Jennings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
