C. J. Wilkins, 54 Passes Monday
Calip Joshua Wilkins, well-known farmer of the Flo School community, Rome Route 1, and a resident of Floyd County for 25 years, died at his home at 6:10
Monday night following an illness of 11 months.
Mr. Wilkins was born in Pickens County on January 22, 1889. He was a member of the Mount View Baptist Church. He was married to the former Miss Mollie
Stephens, of Bartow County, on May 19, 1910.
Surviving are the widow; a son, William R. Wilkins, of Rome Route 3; two daughters, Mrs. Ted Lambert, of Tubize, and Miss George Bell Wilkins, Rome Route
3; a brother, M.R. Wilkins, of Lindale; three sisters, Mrs. H. Womack, Rome; Mrs. T.G. Davenport, Silver Creek Route 1, and Mrs. Lincy Cochran, Alabama City,
Ala.; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at the Spring Creek Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Foley Land, and the Rev. W. M. Turner officiating. Burial
will be in the Spring Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers, who are requested to meet at the Henry Autry Funeral Home at 12:15, will include Floyd Womack, Vince Middleton, J.L. and L.L. Bing, Robert
Calahan, Gar F. Kelly. The body will remain at the Henry Autry Funeral Home until time for the services.
