MRS. JENNIE WARE

Mrs. Jennie Madden Ware, 77, 10 Luminosa Terrace, died at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday in a Rome hospital following an illness of several years.
Mrs. Ware was born April 22, 1896 in Seney, daughter of the late Robert Walter Madden and Gussie Perry Madden. She spent most of her life in Floyd County and was a member of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. She owned and operated Ware Nursing Home for 25 years, during which time she also owned and operated Fifth Avenue Nursing Home, until ill health forced her retirement in 1970. Her first husband, Samuel Starling Peugh, to whom she was married Jan. 6, 1913, died on July 25, 1916. She was later married to George Edward Ware in 1920, who died October 11, 1937. Three sons, Lamar Ware, died on Nov. 4, 1949; George Edward Ware, died on Feb. 23, 1963; and Samuel Doyle Peugh, died on March 13, 1966.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Peugh Riley; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Hobgood, Mrs. Hazel Steadham and Mrs. Elizabeth Beam, all of Rome; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church with the Revs. Joe Vernon and Charles J. Evans officiating. Interment will be in East View Cemetery.
The body will remain at the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. today. At other hours they will be at the residence. The body will be carried to the church at 10 a.m. Friday to lie in state until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers include John E. Ware, Larry Ware, Dean Crowe, Clyde Ware, Clifford Ware and Bill Riley. Honorary pallbearers include Leath Miller, Angus Arwood, Seward Perry, James Ellis, Doyle Mathis, Edward Neighbors, and Dr. Walter Pendley.
