Mrs. Eva Wallace Dies at Residence
Mrs. Eva M. Wallace, 50, died at her residence, Route 3, Rome, at 4 p.m. Thursday following a three year illness. Her condition became serious one month ago.
She was born in Baileyton, Ala., March 3, 1894, the daughter of the late John H. and Georgia Estes Bailey. For the past 12 years she had been a resident of Rome. She had been a member of the Methodist Church for 25 years and for the past year had held membership in the Van's Valley Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, John Wiley Wallace; two step-sons, J. C. Wallace, of Jasper, Ala, N. C. Wallace of Rome; five brothers, Robert, Desta, Ossie, Asa and Ruther Bailey, of Baileyton, Ala.; three sisters, Misses Minnie and Dora Bailey of Baileton, Ala., Mrs. Nell Gilley of Birmingham, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clcok Saturday in the South Broad Methodist church with the Rev. George Davis, the Rev. P. H. Minter, of Cave Spring and the Rev. S. H. Pendley, officiating.
Interment will be in East View Cemetery.
The body will lie in sate at the residence until time for services and the pallbearers, who are requested to meet there at 10:30 are: Paul Foster, Dan Powers, Hiram Toole, Judge Harry Johnson, Ed Phelps and Wyatt Foster.
