After a long illness R. G. Stevens, age 61, was relieved by death (May 19, 1911) at his home on West Seventh Street late Friday night. Mr. Stevens had been a sufferer so long that his demise was not unexpected, although it has brought sorrow to his family and numerous friends.

Mr. Stevens was too young to take part in the civil war, when he was active he engaged in farming. He leaves a wife, seven boys and four daughters. He was a member of the Baptist church.

The funeral will take place Sunday. More definite arrangements will be announced in Sunday's issue of the Tribune-Herald. He will be buried at Old Armuchee Cemetery.
