Mrs. Stansell
Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Douglas Boggs Stansell will be at 2 p.m.
today at the chapel of West Oak Chapel Funeral Home.
The Rev. Max Tucker and Parnick Jennings, Sr. will officiate. Interment
will be at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Stansell, 71, of 7 Ridge Drive died Thursday afternoon at a Rome
hospital after a short illness.
She was born in Attalla, Ala., Aug. 18, 1920, daughter of the late Horace
Boggs and Pearl Johnson Boggs. She had been a resident of Floyd County since
1940. She was a member of the Shorter Avenue Baptist Church and had been
employed by Big K and Wal-Mart for over 19 years.
Survivors include: a daughter, Billie Stansell Cooper, Smyrna, a son,
Bobby Newton Stansell, Woodstock; a brother, Horace F. Boggs, Los Angeles,
Calif; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
