Mrs. Anna Smith passed away Monday morning at 6 o'clock at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Kerce, at Morrison
Camp Ground. She had been ill for the past year and her condition became critical a month ago.
She was born January 13, 1857, at Everett Springs, the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. J. J. Mann, of Sugar Valley. Mrs.
Smith had resided in Floyd County practically all her life, the greater portion of it having been spent at Everett Springs.
She was the widow of the late Pressley B. Smith, who died March 8, 1932. A devoted Christian, she had been a member of the
Mount Tabor Methodist Church for many years.
Surviving Mrs. Smith are four daughters, Mrs.W.L. Dew, of Americus, Mrs. Sarah Kerce, Mrs. Paul Keys, of Rome, Mrs.
Lucille Johnson, of Atlanta; eight sons, Doyle, of Rome, Prater, of Adairsville, Grady, of Jessup, Watson, of Resacca, John,
Reginald and Walter, of Everett Springs, and Felton Smith, of Calhoun; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Stark, of Chattanooga, Mrs.
Ben Harris, of Sugar Valley; three brothers, Colonel Bill Mann, of Dalton, the Rev. Jeff Mann, of Waco, Texas, and Robert
Mann, of Sugar Valley.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Mount Tabor Methodist church. The Rev. J.B.Ward,
pastor, will officiate, with interment in the Mount Tabor cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Charles Everett, S.F. Mills, Lester Terry, W. L. White, H. E. Fitzpatrick, M.L. Earl, G. C. Dew
and Elijah Holsomback. They are requested to meet at the church.
