Mrs. Ruth M. Shiflett

Mrs. Ruth M. Shiflett, age 91, of Douglasville, formerly of Rome, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 10, 2005, at a Douglasville healthcare facility.
Mrs. Shiflett was born in Floyd County on July 5, 1913, daughter of the late Coleman Crider and the late Elizabeth Crider. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist fatith. Mrs. Shiflett was preceded in death by her husband, Claude P. Shiflett and by a grandson, Paul Shiflett.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marianne Browning, California; a son, Robert Shiflett, Rome; a sister Mrs. Manerva Beard, Rome, a brother, Ben Crider, Nevada, five grandchildren; Gina Shiflett, Alissa Browning, Amy Harris, Robert Shiflett and Michael Browning; eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great grand-children; special nieces, Pat Jenkins and Rita Thompson; a special nephew, Ralph Kiker; other nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services for Mrs. Shiflett will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Elgin William will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday from noon until l:30 p.m. At other hours they may be contacted at each of their respective residences.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral.
