Thomas H. Self

Thomas Harold (Jackie) Self, 38, Hicksville Road, Aragon, a former Floyd Countian, died Friday in a Rockmart hospital following injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Rockmart.
Mr. Self was born in Floyd County on Aug. 12, 1934, son of Mrs. Sally Ford Self and the late Joe C. Self and had spent the greater part of his life here prior to moving to Aragon five years ago. He was employed as a foreman by the State Highway Department.
Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Hazel Gentry, to whom he was married Sept. 7, 1957; three daughters, Misses Deborah Darlene, Judy Rene and Regina Lynn Self, all of Aragon; mother Mrs. Sally Self, Silver Creek Rte. 1; four brothers, Joe and Charles Self of Rome, Hubert Self, Powder Springs and Billy Self of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Garrett, Atlanta and Mrs. Louise Stoner of Rome.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Robert Gipe, minister of Jehovah's Witnesses, officiating. Interment will be in Mizpah Cemetery.
The body will remain at the funeral home and the family will be at the residence of the mother, Mrs. Sally Self, Silver Creek Rte. 1.
Pallbearers will include Luke Casey, Ervie Carver, Dellas Shelly, Charles Stoner, Billy Ford and Mike Compton.
