Mrs. Herbert Scoggins
Mrs. Herbert Scoggins, 53, Marietta, died at 10:50 a.m. Friday in Marietta.
Mrs. Scoggins, the former Zelma Fortenberry, was born in Blairsville, June 14, 1925, daughter of Maggie Fortenberry and the late J. W. Fortenberry. She lived in Rome for several years before moving to Marietta.
Survivors include her widower, Herbert Scoggins, Marietta; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry Flynn and Mrs. Jackie Cook, both of Marietta, one son, Neal Tanner, Marietta; mother, Mrs. J. W. Fortenberry, Blairsville; four brothers, Doyle Fortenberry and Hartzel Fortenberry, both of Blairsville, Floyd and Quenton Fortenberry, both of Rome; one sister, Mrs. Clyde Spivey, Rome, five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Evangelical Methodist Church, Marietta, with the Rev. Frank Ray officiating.
Interment was in Georgia Memorial Gardens, Marietta.
Jennings Funeral Home makes the announcement for the family.
