MRS. BLANCHE P. RILEY

Mrs. Blanche P. Riley, age 85, of 10 Luminosa Terrace, Rome, died early Saturday morning, May 8, 1999, in a Rome health care center following an extended illness.
Born December 27, 1913, in Seney, Georgia, Mrs. Riley was a daughter of the late Samuel S. and Jennie Peugh Ware. She spent the greater part of her life in Rome and Floyd County and was a retired nursing home administrator. Mrs. Riley was a member of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and the Constellation Chapter #191, Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Mr. A. L. Riley and three brothers, Samuel D. Peugh, Lamar and George Ware, all preceded her in death.
Mrs. Riley is survived by a niece and her husband, Mary Ellen and Dean Crowe of Rome; a niece, Anne W. Rush of Acworth; nephews, John E. Ware of Rome and Dr. Larry L. Ware of Spartanburg, South Carolina; a stepdaughter, Jane Hope of Cumming; and a stepson, Bill Riley of Rome.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 10, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Evans and Rev. W. C. Ruchti officiating. Interment was in the East View Cemetery. The family received friends at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Active deacons of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church served as pallbearers.
