J. A. Padgett, 50 Dies on Tuesday From Penumonia
Jacob Allison Padgett, 50, died this morning at his home on Callahan Street after an illness of three days from pneumonia. His death comes as a great
shock to his many friends and relatives.
Mr. Padgett had been a resident of Rome practically all his llife and had been an iron molder for the past thirty-five years. He was connected with the
Eagle Stove Works and was affiliated with the local Iron Molders Union No. 234. Mr. Padgett was a member of the North Rome Methodist Church.
Surviving him are the father, J.W. Padgett of Rome; one daughter, Mrs. Albert Schoeler of Trenton, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. John H. Wyatt, of Calhoun,
Mrs. Ruby Gunter of Rome; four brothers, Arthur, Early, Hillard and Barney Padgett, Rome and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are incomplete,
pending the arrival of relatives, but will be announced Wednesday by the Jennings Funeral Home.

Funeral Service for J.A. Padgett Friday, 2:30 P.M.
Funeral services for Jacob Allison Padgett will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the North Rome Baptist Church. The Rev. O. E. Rutland, pastor,
will officiate assisted by the Rev. T.H. Williams, pastor of the North Rome Methodist Church. Interment will be in Myrtle Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers, who are asked to meet at the residence on Callahan Street at 2:15 o'clock, will include Roy Blackwelder, Tom Hasty, Will Conley, Sam Lane,
John Corbin, Ernest Smith, Henry Sternau and L. G. Keith.
