Arthur Henry Owens, 67, retired farmer of Cave Spring Route 2, died in a
local hospital at 11:03 a.m. today following an illness of three weeks.
Born in Chattooga County in 1882, son of the late George and Sarah Waters Owens, he had resided in Floyd County most of his life. Surviving are the
widow, the former Frances Carrie York; one son, Charles Owens; five
daughters, Mrs. Jim Terry, Mrs. Henry Brooks, Mrs. Kate Mason, Mrs. Julia
Norton and Mrs. Ernest Pledger; two brothers, D. F. And George Owens, all of
Cave Spring Route 2; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Barrett and Mrs. Lon Dugger,
both of Rome; and nine grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete
and will be announced later by Jenning Funeral Home. [Rome News-Tribune,

Funeral services for Arthur H. Owens, 67, retired farmer of Cave Spring
Route 2 who died Wednesday in a local hospital, were held at 3 p.m. today at
the Cave Spring Baptist Church. The Rev. Ed Dempsey officiated and
interment was in Cave Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers included: Arthur Ball,
John Wheeler, Asa and Capers Baxter, Fred Morgan and Clarence Hobgood. [Rome
