Mrs. Ruth Osborne, age 69, of Rome, passed away Thursday, March 18, 1999 in a Rome Medical Center. Mrs. Osborne was born September 23, 1929 in Polk County. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Ruby Irene Green Holcombe; and a son, Ricky Allen Osborne. Survivors include her husband, Ed Osborne of Rome; a daughter, Susan Dover of Rockmart; two sons, Gary Osborne of Smyrna and Travis Osborne of Rome; two brothers, Charles Holcombe of Rockmart and Doyce Holcombe of Atlanta; a sister Ann Nation of Cedartown; 11 grandchildren: and a great grandchild. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, in the Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Stevie Waddell and the Rev. Dewey Atchley officiating. Interment followed in Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers included Phil Osborne, David Garrett, Tommy Tyra, Glenn Norman, Jerry Gossett and Clar Soloman. Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
