Ms. Lorene Nichols
Ms. Lorene Nichols, age 97, 311 Park Ave. passed away Monday evening, Jan. 16, 2006, in a local hospital.
Ms. Nichols was born in Ft. Worth Texas, on Feb. 19, 1908, daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Nichols, Sr. and the late Mary Rebecca Martin Nichols. She retired from West Point Pepperell Manufacturing Co. in Lindale following over 51 years of employment and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Ms. Nichols was a long-time and active member of the Lindale Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her son, James H. Luckett, by a grand-daughter, Sheilah Sweenhart-Atkin, by four sisters, Kitty Dodd, Ozell Barton, Annie Bell Nichols, and Pauline Litton, and by three brothers, Andrew Jackson "Jack" Nichols, Jr., Joe Roy Nichols and Sproull F. Nichols.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Ms. Chelsea Akin of Albuquerque, N.M.; a grandson James BenjaminSweenhart of Wilton, Maine; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm,. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home with her pastor, the Rev. Jo hn Moates officiating.
Interment will follow in the family lot in Floyd Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson and & Sons Funeral Home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. At other hours, they may be contacted at each of their respective homes.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home Friday at 1:30 p.m. and include Al Hatcher, the Rev. Will Clonts, Harold Treglown, Kenneth LeRoy, Joe Leming, Glenn Weathington and Bart Weathington.
The family respectfully requests no flowers.
Memorials may be made to the Lindale Church of God, P.O. Box 356, Lindale, GA, 30147.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
