Thomas Walter King, 87 Dies; Services Today
Thomas Walter King, 87, 904 N. 5th Ave. died at 5 p.m. Tuesday in a Rome hospital. He had been in declining health for the past year, his condition
becoming serious two weeks ago.
Mr. King was born in Floyd County July 15, 1875, son of Jasper and Fannie Reeves King and had spent the greater part of his life in Rome and Floyd County.
He was a member of the Sands Springs Baptist Church and a retired farmer. His wife, the former Mary Adaline Padgett King, died March 20, 1938.
Survivors include four sons, Horace King of Rome, Henry and Roland King of Rome Rte. 7 and Thomas King of Orlando, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-
grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home. The Rev. Gus Reed, pastor of Coosa Valley Baptist church will
officiate. Interment will be in Sand Springs Cemetery.
The body was carried tothe residence Tuesday to lie in state until the funeral hour. Pallbearers will be J.T. Watson, Lee Terrell, Newton Morrison, Carl
Terrell, Lee Hoyt Crider and Bobby Copeland. Jennings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
