Mrs. Bessie R. King, 80, 96 Reece Dr., N.E. died Monday morning at a Rome health-care center. Mrs. King was born in Tennesee, Nov. 20, 1903, daughter of the late John A. Reece and Daisy Green Reece. She had lived most of her life in Floyd County and was a member of Redmond Road Church of Christ. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. King, June 9, 1984.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William Evans, Rome; two sons, Norman King, Marietta and Tom King, Rome; four sisters, Mrs. Jewell H. Woodward, Atlanta, Mrs. Doyal Hendricks, Mrs. M.S. Amos and Mrs. Hoyt Branton, all of Rome; two brothers, Truman Reece and Frank Reece, both of Rome; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Talley Brothers Funeral Home, with David Patterson officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley North Cemetery.
