Mr. Hyde

Marvin Dexter Hyde, 71, Kingston, Rte. 1, died Thursday afternoon in a Rome hospital following a sudden attack suffered earlier at his residence.
Mr. Hyde was born July 27, 1907 in Bartow County, son of the late James Hyde and Mary Dillard Hyde. He had resided in Floyd and Bartow Counties most of his life and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he had been a Deacon for 46 years and was a member of the Brotherhood. For a number of years he was a Sunday School teacher. He was a member of East Floyd Lodge 728 and the Low 12 Club. He was a retired Lockheed Corp. employee and at the time of his death was associated with the Bartow Memorial Chapel of Cartersville.
Survivors include the widow, the former Geraldine Rogers, to whom he was married Oct. 14, 1933; three sons, Robert Hyde, Cartersville, Jimmy Hyde, Kingston, Rte. l, Charles Hyde, Woodstock; two brothers, Fred Hyde and Quinn Hyde, both of Rome, two sisters, Mrs. Eva Agan, Aragon Rte. 1, Mrs. Mattie Penson, Silver Creek, Rte 1; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Willis and L. C. Wright officiating.
Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with East Floyd Lodge 728 in charge of graveside rites.
The famiy will receive friends at Jennings Funeral from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at other hours will be at the residence.
The body will lie in state at the church from 2 until 3 p.m. Saturday. \par Pallbearers include Jack Grogan, Melvin Grogan, Donnie Spears, Billy Spears, Frank Jackson and Herman Richey, Deacons of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and members of East Floyd Lodge 728 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Bartow Memorial Chapel and Jennings Funeral Home have charge of the arrangements.
