Mrs. Kathleen Cordle Holsonback
Mrs. Holsonback was born in Chattooga County on March 29, 1919, a daughter of the late George Walter Cordle and Julia Ovelia Drummond Cordle. She had spent most of her life in Floyd County and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, the TEL Sunday school class, Sounds of Praise Choir and a member of the Joymakers Club. She was retired from Advance Glove Mill after 30 years of service. Mrs. Holsonback enjoyed working with flowers.
Her husband, Thomas Owen Holsonback preceded her in death May 20, 1992. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Johnson in 1995, two sisters, Margaret Woodall and Venice Grisby and two brothers, G. W. and Willard Cordle. Survivors include her children, Wayne and Chris Holsonback, Ellen and Weyman Mathis, Melanie and John Johnson; a sister and brother-in-law, Faye and George Hays; seven grandchildren, Denise Smith, Jan Wilson, Don Holsonback, Daniel Holsonback, Andrea Holsonback, Rebecca Holsonback and Jeff Johnson; 16 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Stockton officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Holson will be taken to the church to lie in state from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the church at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and include Randy Hawkins, Michael Russell, Harold Cordle, Curtis Brinkley, Gerald Russell, Jeff Johnston, Don Holsonback and Daniel Holsonback.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. tonight at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home. The services for Mrs. Kathleen Cordle Holsonback are under the direction of the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home.
