Mrs. Rita E. Henderson, age 49, of Lindale, passed away Friday, September 17, 1999 in a local hospital after a lengthy
illness. Mrs. Henderson was born September 17, 1950. She was a homemaker, a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, former
executive director of the March of Dimes in Rome, and a volunteer with Cub Scout Pack No. 36. She is survived by husband, Gary
P. Henderson of Lindale; three sons, Gary P. Henderson, II, and Jeffery Scott Henderson, both of Rome, and Jason Chad
Henderson of Lindale; her father and step-mother, Delmer and Bonita Hobbs of Cedartown; her maternal grandfather, Ed
Shellhorse of Columbus; two brothers, Randy Hobbs of Manchester, Tenn., a step-brother, Mac McCarson of Cedartown; three step-
sisters, Leigh Ann Adams of Gainesville, Dea Guillebeau of Rome and Rae McCarson of North Hollywood, Calif.; two grandchildren
and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, September 20, at 2 p.m., in the chapel at Henderson and
Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Jolly officiating. Interment followed in the family lot in East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers were; Kevin Shellhorse, Chris Conner, Randy Hobbs, Brad Shellhorse, Bart Shellhorse and J. B. Quinn. Henderson and
Sons Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
