MRS. MATTIE HARRIS DIES IN HOSPITAL; FUNERAL IS FRIDAY
Dalton - Mrs. Mattie Harris, native of Floyd County died at 8:40 pm Wednesday in a Dalton hospital.
She was born Oct. 20, 1879 in Floyd County, and married J. O. Harris Dec. 27, 1903. He died Jan. 29, 1955.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Caldwell, Rome, Mrs. Darthula Burkhalter, Lindale, and Mrs. Ruby Johnson, Dalton; two sons, Roy V Harris and Jesse M Harris, both of Dalton. Eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at Ringgold First Baptist Church, Ringgold, at 2:30 pm Friday. Elder A J Sims and Elder T J Hatch will officiate. Interment will be in Anderson Cemetery.
Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home, Dalton, has charge of arrangements.
