Mr. Hardin
He was born in Floyd County May 22, 1933, son of the late George Richard
Hardin Sr. and Fannie Hart Hardin. He had spent most of his life in Floyd
County and for the past 21 years had been employed with Georgia Kraft
Co. as a pipe fitter. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, having served
in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Coosa Masonic Lodge 622 F. &
A.M., Coosa Band Club, Local 766, Eagle Club and McClain-Sealock Post
136 American Legion. Two sisters and two brothers died earlier.
Survivors include the widow, the former Sue Broome, to whom he was
married Feb. 26, 1954, one daughter, Teresa Hardin, Rome; five sisters,
Mrs. Ruby Pearson, Mrs. Sybil Harrison and Mrs. Lucy Parks, Mentone,
Ala., Mrs. Hazel Perry, Greensboro, N.C., and Mrs. Katie Higgins,
Marietta; two brothers, Arzo and Homer Hardin, Rome.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Talley Brothers
Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Amos Adams officiating. Interment will
be in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Coosa Masons 622 F. & A.M. in
charge of graveside rites.
Pallbearers will be Harold Dillingham, George Gaskin, Max Shaw, Mac
Tolbert, Harold Lee and Ed Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Darry
Pilkington, Jim Culpepper, Shelby Sims, J. Sanford Payne, and employees of
the pipe shop at Georgia Kraft Co.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today, and
at other times will be at the residence.
