Mrs. Winnie Gross Dies Unexpectedly; Funeral is Today
Mrs. Winnie Elizabeth Gross, 77, died suddenly Saturday at 1 a.m. at the home of a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Kathleen Freeman Gross, 2 Blanche Ave., with whom she made her home.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio July 4, 1880, but had spent the greater part of her life in Rome. She was married to Charles Edward Gross, who died Aug. 15, 1929.
Surviving are a daughter-in -law, Mrs. Gross, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gross had been affiliated with the Rome Hosiery Mill for 20 years, retiring several years ago.
Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. at the chapel of the Daniel Funeral Home with the Rev. L. C. Wells, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will follow in the family lot of East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Karl Dance, Bill Nelson, T. W. Freeman, Winston Freeman, D. B. Freeman and J. F. Freeman.
