Mr. Dodd

Hugh Dodd 70, Adairsville Rte. 3 died Saturday night in a Cartersville hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Dodd was born in Bartow County Sept. 15, 1912, the son of the late James H. and Kitty Nichols Dodd. He was for a number of years a partner in the King and Dodd Builders Supply. He had also worked as a clerk with the S. and H. Supermarket and was a member of the Adairsville Masonic Lodge, where he had been past Worshipful Master. He was also a member of the Royal Arch Chapter 92.
Survivors include his widow, the former Sally Lockridge, to whom he was married Feb. 19, 1938; one son, Edwin Dodd, Kennesaw; one daughter, Mrs. Leamon (Jean) Hollaran, Cartersville; one brother, James H. Dodd, Jr. Kingston; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Manning, Adairsville and Mrs. Margie Bell, Cedartown, eight granchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were to be held at 4 p.m. today at the Adairsville Christian Church with the Minister Phil McPherson officiating.
Interment will be in the East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Edd Baggett, Preston Morris, George Adams, Wesley Johnson, Ottis Holbomb and Jimmy Wood.
