Frank Alton Deason

Frank Alton Deason, 67, Armuchee, Rte. 1, Deason Road, died at 8:20 p.m. Friday in a Rome hospital. He had been in declining health for several years, his condition becoming serious one week ago.
Mr. Deason was born in Floyd County, Aug. 23, 1911, son of the late George Huel and Gena Barton Deason. He had resided his entire life in Floyd County, and was a member of Floyd Springs Baptist Church and a member of Floyd Springs Masonic Lodge 167 F&AM. He was employed for several years with Air Distribution, before retiring in 1970. \par Survivors include his widow, the former Jewell Hawkins, who he married Dec. 21, 1933, one daughter, Mrs. Charles Bailey, Armuchee Rte. 1; two sisters, Mrs. O. R. Hawkins, Armuchee and Mrs. Sara Patterson, Manchester, Tenn.; one brother, Otis Deason, Seneca, S.C.; four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today at Floyd Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. A. C. Davis, Richard Daley and J. W. Terhune officiating.
Interment will be in East View Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 2 p.m. today until the hour of the funeral.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Dillard, Larry Bowman, Kelly Owens, Randolph Hawkins, A. J. Roundtree and Fred Rogers.
Floyd Springs Lodge 167 F&AM will serve as honory escort and have charge of graveside rites. West Oak Chapel has charge of arrangements.
