Mrs. P. D. Davis Dies Yesterday
Mrs. Paul D. Davis, 55, died Tuesday night at her home, 514 East Eighth Street, following an illness of several months. She would have celebrated her
38th wedding anniversary today with her husband. She was born in Rome and had spent her entire life in this community. She was a member of the Second Avenue
Methodist Church and had taught in the Rome city schools for a number of years. Active in the Women's Society of Christian Service, she always enjoyed a wide
circle of friends.
Surviving besides her husband are two sisters, Mrs. E. P. Hardin and Mrs. Horace M. Gillispie, both of Rome, and one brother, I. T. O'Bryan, also of Rome.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at Daniel & Son with the Rev. P. M. Minter officiating.
Interment will be in East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Willingham Smith, Jr., Roy Evans, Grady L. Ford, C. A. Fricks, Alvin Autry, J. C. Stephens, P. L. Drummond and M. H. Bruce. Honorary
pallbearers will be H. L. Barron, J. P. Reid, R. S. Ransom, Fred M. Henderson, C. B. Stillwell, W. A. Stivers, J. D. Kennedy, Albert Pruitt and J. C. Lifsey.
