Mrs. Davis
Mrs. Fannie Lou (Granny) Davis, 80, 101 Piedmont Ave., died Monday morning at her residence follwoing a sudden attack.
Mrs. Davis was born in Hart County, Sept. 27, 1900, daughter of the late Benjamin W. and Bessie Shellhouse Moss. She resided most of her life in Floyd County and was a member of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Golden Age Club and a retired restaurant owner and operator. She was married in August 1915 to George Frank Davis, who died in 1949. Two brothers, Dave and Elmer Moss and a sister, Mrs. Nora Lee Watson died earlier.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Grady Brock and Mrs. Earl Jacks, both of Rome, and Mrs. James A. Wheeler, Darian; one son, Gordon Davis, New Orleans, La.; three sisters,Mrs. Helen Nation, Dalton, Mrs. Agnes Sisson, Atlanta and Mrs. Naomi Crocker, Rome, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shorter Avenue Baptist Church with the Revs. Gerald Rogers and J. Howard Holcomb officiating.
Interment will be in Beech Creek Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
