Mrs. Bessie Ruth Brock

Mrs. Bessie Ruth Brock, 87, of 7 Johnson St., passed away at a local hospital on Wednesday, December 24, 2003.

Mrs. Brock was born in Floyd County on May 7, 1916, the daughter of the late Fannie Lou Moss Davis and Frank Davis. She was a member of the Shorter Avenue Baptist Church and of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Mrs. Brock was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady G. Brock in 1991, to whom she was married Sept. 9, 1933, her parents; two sisters, Louise Jacks and Billie Wheeler and three brothers, Leon Davis, B. F. Davis and Gordon Davis.

Survivors include two sons, David Brock (Shirley) of Lyerly and LeRoy Brock (June) of Rome; grandchildren, Leesa Norton and Tony Brock of Rome, and Randy Brock of Adairsville, and Wesley Brock of Smyrna. Several great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Drummond officiating.

Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. and include the following: Gary Norton, Tony Brock, Randy Brock, Freddie Hardin, Benny Davis and Lynn Davis.

The Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home has charge of the funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Ruth Brock.
