Mrs. Branton dies April 25, 2000

Mrs. Mary Frances Branton, 78, of 665 Chulio Road S.E. died Tuesday at a Rome hospital.
Mrs. Branton was born in Bartow County on Jan. 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Nathaniel Jackson Barnes and Minnie Lanham Barnes. Prior to retirement she was employed as a nurse's aide at Valley View Nursing Home. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. Her husband, Clarence Franklin Branton, died on June 29, 1995.
Survivors include one son, Lindsey Branton of Texas; one daughter Margie Floyd, Rome; one brother, Frank Barnes, Rome; three sisters, Lois Johnston and Dot Bowen, both of Rome and Audrey Langham, Kingston; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Spring Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Adams, Jerry Branton and Jim Reynolds officiating.
Interment will be at Spring Creek Cemetery.
