Mr. Aycock
Gordon Aycock, Sr. 66 800 North Fifth Ave. Apt. 215, died Thursday afternoon following a sudden attack.
Born in Floyd County May 14, 1913, son of the late John D. and Ethel Hogan Aycock, he was a life-long resident of Floyd County and prior to retirement in 1978 had been associated with the Floyd County Public Works Department as a security officer for 23 years. He was a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association and the George Sheriffs Association.
Survivors include the widow, the former Beulah Mae Broom to whom he was married March 10, 1939: a son, William Gordon Aycock, Jr. Rome, a brother William Shaw Aycock, Summerville, two sisters, Mrs. Lena Holder, Summerville, and Mrs. Evelyn Holder, Rome; five grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the graveside in East View Cemetery with the Rev. James Sanders officiating.
