Funeral Tuesday For Mrs. Allen

Mrs. Tennie Proctor Allen, 68, died at her residence, 211 Myrtle St. Sunday evening at 6:10 o'clock. Mrs. Allen had been in declining health the past three months, her condition becoming serious five days ago.
She was born in Bartow County, August 12, 1885, daughter of the late John W. and Frances Elizabeth Drummond Proctor, but had been a resident of Rome the greater part of her life. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Hollywood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Allen Dec. 19, 1936 and by a son, Carl Allen, August 27, 1941.
Surviving Mrs. Allen are two daughters, Mrs. Sam Henderson and Mrs. A. C. Payne, both of Rome; two brothers, Grady and Luther Proctor, of Rome. Ten grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the Grace Bible Church with the pastor, the Rev. Nathan Penland, and the Rev. Harvey Brown, pastor of Hollywood Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Mizpah Cemetery.
The body will be carried to the home this afternoon to lie in state until time for funeral services and pallbearers are requested to meet there at 3:30 Tuesday. They include six nephews, Harold, Ralph and Clinton Griffies, Luther Jones, Benton Proctor, and Dr. John Proctor.
