Col. Bell’s New Book---Men and Things

            The Many friends of Col. H.P. Bell will be pleased to learn that his new book, “Men and Things”, will soon be ready for delivery.  This book is different, and will prove to be one of the most interesting yet written by any author.  It treats of “Men and Things,” of interest to every citizen of Forsyth County, every one of whom should have the book, written, as it is, by our most distinguished citizen.  Referring to this new work by Col. Bell, the Atlanta Daily Consitution says:---Not only Georgians, but southerners everywhere will be interested in “Men and Things”, which is the title of a new work by Hon. Hiram P. Bell of Cumming, Ga.  Judge Bell’s book is now in the hands of the printers, and will be ready for delivery within sixty days.  Judge Bell is a charming raconteur, and it has ever been his delight to tell of interesting experience in conversation with friends.   

            Realizing the historical value and interest in these reminiscences, his friends finally prevailed upon him to record them, which he decided to do.  His work is reminiscent, biographical and historical.  It deals with a long period of Georgia and southern history in many features, of which the writer was a prominent figure.  He was a member of the second confederate congress, and saw the situation of trying days from vantage ground.  The charming and attractive style of the author will add much of interest to a work covering a wide period and many important subjects connected with it.  Those wishing information about “Men and Things” may obtain it from Clarence Bell, room  100S Empire building, Atlanta.
