•  Am looking for a Francis Powell Sr. born 1750 in Orange Co Va., moved to Elbert/Hart Co. Ga. in the late 1700's.  It is not the Francis Powell that married Nancy Whitehead. Or the Francis Marian Powell that was related to William riddle Powell and Sarah Lawrence. HE was active in 1811 to about 1815 in deeds and the witnesses were Lewis R. Powell, and Francis M. Powell. He is related to the McMillans, Vickery's, and many other Surnames. The story goes that he went to Elbert co. Ga., but a lot of these Powells that came from Orange Co. drifted into other counties.
