William H. Parker was born in Elbert county, Ga., 1797, and died in Campbell co., Ga., July 9th 1867, being in the 70th year of his age.

Thomas S. White was born in Elbert county, Ga., on 19th February 1808 and died in Coweta county., 15th August 1867.

William C. Davis was born in Virginia, August 25th, 1776.  At about 20 years of age, the family came to Elbert county, Ga.  He died 27th July 1867. About 42 years of the latter portion of his days he was a citizen of Newton co., Ga.  Informant W. J. Parks

Col. Robert McMillan was born 7th January 1805  near the city of Belfast, Ireland, and died in Clarksville, Ga., on 6th May 1868.  From the son of the deceased I learn that he came to America about the year 1832, and engaged in mercantile pursuits in Augusta, Ga.  In 1836 he was married to Miss Ruth A. Banks of Elbert co., where he settled and continued his mercantile pursuits until 1839, when he abandoned this for the profession of the law.  Informant F. G. Hughes

Samuel P. Walker was born in So. Ca., May 15, 1807, was left an orphan at an early age, was brought to DeKalb co., Ga., where he grew up into manhood. He was married in Elbert co., Ga., Jan. 21st, 1841, joined the M. E. Church in 1840, and died in Cobb co., Ga., May 17th, 1868, aged 61 years and 2 days.  Informant James N. Myers, Pastor

Mrs. Jane E. Thompson was born in Elbert county, Ga., and died in Savannah, Ga. July 18th 1868, in the 73rd year of her age.  Mrs. T. was the relict of Capt. Drury Thompson, who was for many years a resident of Macon, and who removed to Savannah in 1850 and died in 1855.  She was the youngest and last surviving sister of Gen. Wylly Thompson, deceased.  She leaves numerous kindred among the families of the the Thompsons, Watkins, Wynns, Olivers, Burtons, Napiers and Mannings, the nearest of whom is her only daughter, Mrs. Amanda E. L. I. (or L. E.) Hansford was born in Elbert county, Ga., and died in Macon, Ga., Sept. 21, 1868, in his 59th year.  He left a wife and nine children.  Informant J. Jones

Mrs. Elizabeth B. Head, daughter of Richard and Elizabeth B. Harper, was born in Elbert county, Ga., August 24th 1812, married Willis R. Head, Nov. 11th 1829, and died Nov. 18th 1868 in Henry Co., Ga.  Informant J. W. Turner

Mrs. Sarah Fambrough, wife of the late Judge William L. Fambrough, was born in Elbert co., Ga., and died in Monroe co., Ga., on 27th May 1869, in the 71st year of her age.

Miss Sarah Williams Clark, daughter of James A. and Frances M. Clark of Elbert co., Ga., was born April 14, 1848, and died September 5, 1869, at Franklin Spring, Franklin co., Ga.  Informant A. G. Worley

Matilda Hansford was born March 1, 1818, and died September 25, 1869, in Macon, Ga., the mother of 12 children.  She joined the M. E. Church, South, in Elbert co., in 1839.  Her husband preceded her (L. E. Hansford) one year and four days.  Informant James Jones

Sister Susannah D. Gantman  was born in N. C., 21st of June 1792, and died 24th August 1860.  She was the daughter of Thomas Pledger who moved to Elbert county, Ga., when she was some 6 or 7 years of age.

William Williams died at the residence of his grandmother, Mrs. Allen, in Elbert county, Ga., on the 2d April 1870, aged 30 years and 7 months.  On the 17th November 1868, Mr. Williams married Miss Jessie Arnold, daughter of the late Rev. Wesley P. Arnold of the North Ga. Conference.  Informant A. G. Worley

Mrs. E. E. Reynolds, wife of Rev. Freeman F. Reynolds, of the S. Ga. Conference is dead.  The daughter of Benjamin Andrews of Elbert co., Ga.  She was born on the 10th of January 1820 and died on the 26th May 1870.  Informant Wm. Hauser, M. D.

Mrs. Lucy G. Henry, wife of Wm. R. Henry of Campbell co., Ga., and sister of Bishop Andrew was born in Elbert co., August 25th 1799, and died July 8th 1870.  Informant J. J. D.

Lewis Redwine was born in Montgomery co., N. C., Sept. 27th 1791, and died in Coweta co., Ga., Feb. 28th 1870.  His wife, Mary Redwine, was born in Elbert co., GA., Sept. 30th 1799 and died in Coweta co., Ga., May 28th 1870.  Informant D. D. Cox

Mrs. Emily Blackwell, wife of Linsay Blackwell, Esq., was born and raised in Elbert col, Ga., by the late Joseph Blackwell and emigrated with the writer to Arkansas in 1857, and died in Jefferson co., Ark. on 11th July 1870.  Informant S. M. McGehee

Mr. Shelton Oliver was born in Elbert co., Ga., 9th July 1801 and died in Oglethorpe co., September 17th 1870.

Sister Mary R. Mann was born in Elbert county, Ga., February 25, 1792, married December 26, 1815, and died in Jonesboro, September 17, 1870.  She has left twelve surviving children.

Eliza H. Badget, wife of J. T. Badget, was born in Elbert county, GA., in 1841.  Died in Paulding co., Ga., October 13th 1870.

Mrs. Elizabeth Blackwell, widow of Joseph Blackwell, died at the residence of her son, Mr. Donton Blackwell, in Elbert co., Ga.  She was born March 19th 1796 and married March 1813, and with her daughter, Mrs. Col. Bowman, united with the M. E. Church.  One of her daughters, Mrs. Florence, is the wife of an itinerant.

Mrs. Sarah M. Etchison, daughter of Charles and Mary Reagan, was born in Elbert co., Ga. December 5th 1806, and was married to Allen Etchison, January 19th 1826, and died in Chambers co, Ala., June 26th 1871.  Informant S. Harwell.  Nashville Christian Advocate please copy.

William Hammond, one of the oldest as he was one of the best citizens of Whitfield county, died at his residence, near Dalton, on Friday night, Oct. 20th 1871.  He was the son of Job Hammond and Lucy Howard, his wife, and was born in Elbert co., Ga., in 1792.  In 1818 he married Frances Aker of Pendleton District, S. C.  She only lived ten years, and in 1832 he married Lucy C. Hudson, widow of Thomas P. Carter, who survives him.  After his second marriage he moved to Franklin county, aand from thence to what is now Bradley co., Tenn., then a part of the Cherokee Nation.  In 1836 he eremoved to this (then Murray) county and settled at the  home now occupied by his widow.  Informant G. Mary J. Fisher, wife of Harris M. Fisher and daughter of Dr. J. M. Palmer and Sarah A. Childers of Elbert co., died at Bay Springs, Washington co., Ga., November 10th 1871.

Mrs. Mary C. Q. Caisey (Casey) was born in Elbert county, Ga., 21st October 1847 and died November 1871 in Jackson county, Georgia.  Informant John H. Parker

Rev. William Allgood, a local preacher in the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, was born in Elbert county, Ga., and died at his residence in Spalding co., Ga., in his 55th year.  He was married to his wife in Merriwether co., Ga., and she still survives. Issue Date-April 10, 1872

Mrs. Lucy B. Bonner died at the residence of her husband, Judge J. Bonner of Carroll county, Ga., April 7th 1872 in the sixty-sixth year of her age.  She was born in Elbert county, Ga., June 1st 1806; removed from there to Clarke county, Ga., when ten years of age; married Zadock Bonner, Dec. 28th 1825; moved to Carroll county in 1829.

Mrs. Nancy Decker died in Columbus Ga., April 25th 1872, in the 69th year of her life.  The subject of this notice was a native of South Carolina, from which state her parents removed to Elbert county. Ga., in her early life.

Miss Jane Eliza Clark, daughter of James A. and Frances M. Clark of Elbert co., Ga., died at her father's residence on the morning of the 3d of August 1872.  Informant A. G Worley

Brother James N. D. LeSeur died at Athens, Ga., October 15th 1872.  He was born in Elbert county. Ga., August 14th 1836.  About five years afterward his father removed to Russell county, Ala.  He was married Dec. 25th 1845 to Miss Sarah J. Haynes, and afterward removed to Athens, Ga.  Informant J. Lewis, Jr.

Mrs. Martha Klugh, daughter of Thomas and Parmelia Tate, was born in Elbert county, Ga., in 1796.  She was married to Pascal D. Klugh in 1831 and moved to Abbeville, S. C., where she lived until her death, which took place in January 1873, her husband having died five years previously.  I married her only child, Dr. H. G. Klucj, and lives in the house with her twenty-one years.  Informant Sarah E. Klugh

Sister Groover, wife of Rev. Peter Groover, of the Georgia Conference, was the daughter of F. P. and Eliza Maulden, and was born in Elbert co., Ga., July 14, 1837, and when quite young she removed to Cobb countyh.  Issue date May 28, 1873

Miss Leona Black was born in 1844 and died in Ruckersville, Elbert county, Ga., Sept. 9th 1873.  Informant F. G. Hughes

Rev. William J. Parks was the son of Henry and Martha Parks (named name Justice).  She has only one brother, William Justice, from whom William Justice Parks received his name.  His father, born  in Virginia, was reared in Wilkes county, North Carolina on Yadkin River, in a rough mountainous region.  HIs parents and most of the people about them were Baptists.  His mother, also born in Virginia, was a Episcoplaian, baptized in infancy and trained up in that church.  About the year 1785 or 1786 William J. Parks' parents removed from North Carolina and settled near the mouth of Beaverdam creek in Elbert county, Georgia.  Of these parents, William Justice Parks was the youngest of eight children, born in Franklin county, Ga., Nov. 30, 1779.  He died October 16th 1873.

Mrs. Martha Sledge was born in Elbert county, Ga., June 23d 1793, married to Mr. Wiley Sledge on Sept. 27th 1827, and died at Athens, Ga., Nov. 24th 1873.  She leaves one daughter and an aged husband,  now in his ninety-first year.  Informant J. Lewis, Jr.

Donald McDonald was born in Elbert co., Ga., Oct. 22d 1803; moved to Monroe county in 1825; to Upson county in 1855 and died there March 3d 1874.  Informant S. A. Mitchell

Tribute of Respect (Issue date May 6, 1874) from Elbert circuit, North Georgia Annual Conference to Rev. W. H. Adams, who was born in Elbert county, Ga.  He was ordained deacon on June 11, 1870.  He left a wife and children.

Tribute of Respect (Issue date May 6, 1874) from Elbert circuit, North Georgia Conference to Rev. Jno. B. Wade, who was born in Bedford county, Va., April 23d, 1789, removed to Georgia with his widowed mother in 1801.  He resided in Elbert county, Ga., and died at the age of 84 years.

My father, Rev. J. W. Mills, was born April 20th 1818 in Monroe or Elbert county, Ga., and died in Shelby county, Texas July 6th 1874.  Informant J. M. Mills

Mrs. Mary McGarity was born in Virginia in 1773; moved to Elbert county. Ga., when a child, and subsequently moved to Fulton county, Ga., where she dies July 24th 1874.  Informant A. G. Dempsey

Rev. William Glenn, a native of Virginia and for several years a resident of Elbert county, Ga., died at his home in Anderson county, S. C., July 1 1874, in his 81st year.  He leaves a large number of children and grandchildren.  Informant J. Q. Stockman

Mrs. Lucy Jane Shelnutt, wife of Hon. N. Shelnutt and daughter of William and Sarah Christian, was born in Elbert county, Ga., November 2d 1819 and died in Bowdon Carroll co., Ga., Oct. 22d 1874.  Informant W. C. Dunlap

Mrs. Rebecca White, whose maiden name was Pulliam was born in Elbert county, Georgia, and died Dec. 31st 1874, aged 87 years.  Her husband, Stephen White, died only about one and a half years ago.  Informant Thomas J. Adams

Mrs. Drucilla Adams was born in Elbert co., Ga., May 18th 1806; and died April 17, 1875.  She was the daughter of James and Jemima Hunt and the wife of Nicholas H. Adams, who died in 1851, leaving her a widow with nine children, seven daughters and two sons.  She left seven children--one son and six daughters.

Early Cleaveland (Cleveland) died at his residence in Monroe county, Ga., July 6th 1875, having completed his 69th year just one month and one day previously. He was born in Elbert county, Ga., but he had been a citizen of Monroe county since about the year 1827.

My dear mother, Mrs. Agnes Melita Adams, wife of Rev. John M. Adams and whose maiden name was Hulme, was born in Elbert county, Ga., February 24th 1814, and died in Madison county, Ga., July 5th 1875.  She was the mother of fourteen children, most of whom are still alive.  informant Thomas J. William Asbury Banks was born in Elbert county., Ga., December 26th 1812 and died in Forsyth, Ga., June 19th 1875.  He leaves a widow and five children.

James Adams was born in Virginia, February 25, 1799; was brought to Elbert county, Ga., by his parents when he was about three years of age, spent the remainder of his life at and near his father's first settlement on Cold Water Creek. He was the father of Six children, five of whom still live.  Issue date June 26, 1877

My mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Jones, who was the daughter of Robert L. Edwards, was born in South Carolina, July 19th 1810; married Samuel G. Jones in Elbert county., Ga., January 26, 1826; died in Bartow county, Ga., May 18, 1877.  My mother's remains were deposited in the cemetery at Cartersville.  Informant R. H. Jones

Mrs. Elizabeth Hammond, daughter of John and Mary Rich, was born in Elbert county, Ga., Sept. 13th 1799, and died June 21st 1877 in her 78th year.  She was married May 10th 1821 to Col. Herbert Hammond of Anderson, S. C. and raised a family of ten children, seven of whom, along with many grandchildren, survive.  Two of her daughters married ministers, one in South Carolina and another in the North Georgia Conference.  Informant G. Rev. Benjamin Peeler was born February 5, 1793 and reared in Elbert county, Ga., and died at Jewells, July 5, 1877.  In 1845 he moved to Clarke county.  He left several children and grandchildren.
