Barnes + Ricketson Marriage of Miss Lucile Barnes to Mr. Robert Ricketson Is Announced

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Barnes announce the marriage of their sister, Billie Lucille to Robert Ricketson. The wedding ceremony was performed on Sunday May 12, in Abbeville by Rev. J. E. Summers, pastor of the Abbeville Methodist Church.
The bride is a winsome brunette, and is the younger daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Barnes of this city. She has one sister, Mrs. Carl Kirkland of Broxton, and one brother, Herman Barnes of Douglas, with whom she is making her home at present. Mrs. Ricketson is a graduate of the Douglas High School and she attended South Georgia College.
Mr. Ricketson is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Eston Ricketson of Douglas. He has two brothers, Leo and Lawrence Ricketson. He graduated from the Douglas High School and South Georgia College and is now a student at the Aeronautical Training School at College Park. He expects to finish his course there the first of July.
The surprise wedding of this young couple is the culmination of a romance which began in their high school years, and they have a host of friends who are interested in their future.
Mr. Ricketson and his bride made a trip to points of interest in Florida, visiting Daytona Beach, Silver Springs and Lake Wales.
It will not be known until the completion of Mr. Ricketson's training course in June where the couple will make their home.
