History of Cobb County: Can not be spelled out in a brief passage or two, but here are some highlights: The Chattahoochee Rives comprises the eastern border of Cobb County. Perhaps one indicator to the success of today's Cobb is because of its economic endeavors. "The Alabama Rd. runs further north through Bartow County and the reference to Shallowford Roaad in early Chattahooche" was written in publications as early as 1824 (from that we can conclude that those "roads" had been traveled for some time. (2) Please see the articles by Randy Golden in re to Cobb - The Civil War Era. "COBB COUNTY WAS CREATED IN Dec. 1831 from Cherokee County. It was the 81st County in Georgia and was named for Judge Thomas Willis Cobb of Virginia. He served as a U.S. Senator, State Congressman, and Superior Court Judge.

Cobb County Update -- January 21, 2007

This page is dedicated to the memories of two men, Joe Lattanzi and Don Suessmith.  These men were patriots whose residence in Cobb County changed many lives, mine included.  Joe and Don were the best of friends.  Joe taught thousands of students, including my mother, at Campbell High School.  Don, well, he was my grandfather.  During the turbulent days of the seventies, when people were burning flags, Joe and Don sat on the front porch with a shotgun bound and determined to protect the United States flag that they so loved.  True patriots.  I love you, Granddaddy.  Rest in Peace.  See you in 60 years or so.

Stop a Genocide

As a general rule, I do not get involved in "do-gooder" causes.  However, the right to life is tantamount and genocide everywhere must be stopped.
