This was the last well in
Milstead. It was filled in 1927. People were traveling from Sheffield
District to Conyers via horse wagons and buggies. They would stop and
water the animals and eat their lunch before going on to Conyers. When
the state constructed what is now Ga. 20 in front of Conyers Food Mart,
the cars came into use and the well was no longer needed.
Note: The utility poles
in the center of the street and the shrubbery. Located at the end of
Broad Street in Milstead.
