1848-03-23 Chattooga Co Deed Book B George Maddox to Thomas

This indenture made and entered into this Twenti Third day of March in the year
of our Lord eighteen hundred and Forty Eight between George B.T. Maddox of the one
part and County and State aforesaid and Thomas Kendrick of the other part of the
Same place Witnesseth that the said George B T Maddox, for and in consideration
of the Sum of One hundred dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing
and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged both granted
bargained Sold & Conveyed and do by these presents grant bargain sell &
Convey unto the Said Thomas Kindrick his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel
of land lying and being in the Fifth, 5, District and Fourth, 4, Section of Orriginally
Cherokee now Chattooga Known and distinguished by Number One hundred and Eighty
Eight (188) containing One hundred and Sixty acres more or less, To have and to
hold Said tract of land unto him the said Thomas Kindrick his heirs and assigns
together with all and Singular the rights members and appurtenances thereto the
Same in any manner belonging to his and their proper use benefit and behoof in fee
Simple and the said George B T Maddox for himself his heirs Executors and administrators
the Said bargained premises unto the said Thomas Kindrick his heirs & assigns
, will Warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves
and against the Claim of all other persons Whatever in Witness Whereof the Said
Maddox hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and year first above Written.

This is to certify that I saw the said GBT Maddox signe the Within area

Personally appeared Wm E A Bryant and after being duly sworn deposeth and Saith
that he saw G B T Maddox sign and deliver the within Deed as is Set forth, and also
saw the deponant sign the same & James A Turner, Sworn to before me the 9th
day December 1848.
