Camp of South Carolina, Murray County, GA and Campbell County.
John L. served in Co. E, 1st Georgia Calvary, CSA, and was later
elected sheriff of Old Campbell County and State Represenative
from Campbell County for one term. His ancestry and descendants
are well documented.
Lawrence S. Camp - A grandson of John L. was a Georgia Attorney
General, who FDR picked as his choice to run for the U.S. Senate
in
1938 against Senator Walter F. George (who won) and Gene Talmadge.
