Ergle Cemetery

Location: Bankhead Highway, Douglasville, Ga.
The small cemetery is adjacent what was then the Solid Rock Baptist Tabernacle, on Bankhead Highway west of Douglasville, .5 mi. west of Bright Star Road at the quarry entrance.

About 14 unmarked graves, most infants; three marked “Infant sons of Rev. and Rebecca Hix.”

(Note: Census records show that John Ergle, formerly of Lexington District, S.C., was born in 1815, not 1811. His wife was Mary Price of Lexington District. The Hix markers, made of a concrete-like material and painted with white paint, are almost illegible.)
