Submitted by: John R. Johnson  <[email protected]> March 2006

Transcriptions submitted by John R Johnson, using the resource: Against Oblivion; A History of Calhoun County, with permission from Martha Dozier. Thanks to Ms. Dozier and Mr. Johnson.  The Survey was conducted on June 8, 1990 by James and Shirley Blankenship.

This cemetery is located off south on Hwy. 216 from Edison, GA. Turn right onto Co. Rd. 16. Proceed to Parksville, approximately. ½ mile west. The cemetery is .7 miles on the right in a large wooded area. This is Conner Collins’ farm. This cemetery covers about two acres and was fenced at one time. Portions of the old fence are on the ground. A conservative estimate of the depressions found here would be over 200.

This grave is marked with an old iron bed. The headboard standing at the head of the grave and foot board at the foot. The grave is as wide as the bed, anchored in the cement, which was covered with dirt, leaves, vines about six inches deep. The name and dates hand written and very legible. I have been told by those who were told the story this was her request. There was also an old chamber pot on the grave.
