John Andrews – MEMORIAM

St. John’s Lodge
No. 45, F. A. M.

Whereas our Supreme Grand Master on the 5th instant, in his infinite wisdom was pleased to remove our brother John Andrews form the cares and trouble of a transitory existence to a state of eternal duration; therefore be it

Resolved 1st: that while we submissively bow to the will of the Lord that gave and has taken away and in our heart say bless be the name of our Lord we feel that in the dispensation, the Golden chain that bind us together as brothers, has been weakened, and our hearts can but be grieved at the loss of one who has been with us so long, and has so assiduously adhered to the sacred tenets of our order. Born and raised in our midst until he had passed the meridian of life amid all the vicissitudes of fortune, he was found Good, True and Square. A loving husband, a tender father, an affectionate brother, a generous friend
Yet our sorrow is seasoned with the comforting consolation that he has gone to the home of his rest where suffering no longer can harm and death no more can kill, where his soul will be forever at peace delighted with the songs of the good and hymns of the blest.

Resolved 2nd: That we tender his sorrowing family the poor comfort of our sympathy, and that we strive, by imitating his virtuous and Christian life, to be ready when the last loud triumph shall sound to meet him in the Celestial Lodge above where the Grand Architect of the universe presides in goodness and love.

Resolved 3rd: That the Lodge wear the usual badge of mourning for thirty days, that these resolutions be published in the Butts County Argus and Griffin News, and a copy be transmitted to the family of our deceased brother.
