GEORGIA – Henry County

This indenture made this 3rd day of August in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and Twenty One between Reuben Bankston of the one part and state aforesaid, and John Lewis of the same state and county aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Eighty dollars to me in hand paid by the said John Lewis at or before the signing and delivering there presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained and sold and by these presents doth bequest, bargain and sell, release and convey unto the said John Lewis his heirs and applying a certain parcel of land containing fifty acres being the same more or less it being the south east corners of Lot No. 144 in the third district of Butts County, originally Monroe, now Butts County, to have and to hold the said lands together with all and singular the rights members and appertaining unto the said John Lewis, his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own people and benefits and behoof forever in fee simple and the said Reuben Bankston for himself his heirs expeditors and administrator shall and will warrant and will forever defend the rights and title of said on parcel of land unto the said John Lewis his heirs and assigns against the claims of himself and against the claims of all other person or persons whatsoever in witnesseth whereof the said Reuben Bankston hath hereunto set his hand and assigns his seal the day and date above written.
