M.C. Holton, age 68, of Alma passed away Tuesday
morning, April 26, 2005 at the Bacon County Hospital
after an extended illness.
He was a native of Bacon County, son of the Clifford
Lee Holton and Madie Taylor Holton and preceded in
death by a brother, Alvin Holton, two sisters, Juanita
Waters and Oveda Rewis.
M.C. was a member of Eastside
Baptist Church and a retired logger.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Rewis Holton of
Alma; two sons, Larry Holton and wife Brenda, Jody
Holton and wife Michelle, all of Alma; three
daughters, Carolyn Clements and husband Pee Wee,
Janice Simmons, all of Alma and Wendy Holton of Park
View, Washington and one sister, Othedias (Tootise)
Gurley of Alma. Also nine grandchildren and five great
grandchildren survive.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 28, 2005 at
4 p.m. from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with
Rev. Herman Moore, Rev. Troy Turner and Rev. Mark
Barth officiating. Interment followed in Pinelawn
Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Josh Holton, Shell Simmons,
Shawn Holton, Casey Holton, Audie Holton, G.C. Waters
and Ronnie Rewis.
Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Music, Pete and Johnny
Rewis, David Gurley, Wendell Rewis, Ronnie Altman,
Olin Rewis, Dr. Charles Bagley and Staff, Randall
Vonier, Roger Boatright, Larry Waters and Carl
Leggett.
Crosby Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
