Mrs. Verdie O. Wolfe, 79, of Baxley, died Sunday, July 5,
1992 in the Appling General Hospital.
She was a native of
Pierce County and had resided in Appling County most of
her life and was the widow of the late Benjamin L. Wolfe.
She was a member of the Baxley Church of God of Prophecy
and the Adult Women's Sunday School Class.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, July 7 at 3:00 p.m.
in the Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Clinton
Fields and Pastor Randy Sellers officiating. Interment
followed in the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Beckworth
and Mrs. Helen Drawdy both of Baxley and Mrs. Linda Gail
Murray of Blackshear; three sons, Robert Wolfe and Larry
Wolfe both of Baxley and Benjamin Wolfe of Twin Lakes,
Wis.; one sister, Mrs. Magdalene Melton of Blackshear; two
brothers,
R. W. O'Bright of Waycross and Mr. G. C. O'Bright of
Kenosha, Wis.; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren
and one great-great-grandson also survive.
Serving as
active pallbearers were grandsons Billy Eason, Steve
Eason, Bobby Wolfe, Jimmy Beckworth, Keith Beckworth and
Chris Murray.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the
Adult Women's Sunday School Class of the Church of God of
Prophecy.
Musical selections were rendered by the Rev.
Dannie Hix and Mrs. Diane Thornton.
Arrangements were under the direction of Strickland-Bass
Funeral Home.
